Course be Prerequisites
- You must have previous roped climbing experience (outdoor or gym)
- You must be an active Sierra Club member and provide your member #
- You must be able to attend all classes
- You must own or be willing to purchase the required equipment
Class Locations
- Class 1: SpringHill Suites Los Angeles Downey (6:30 pm - 10 pm)
- Class 2: Stoney Point, Chatsworth (full day)
- Class 3: Stoney Point, Chatsworth (full day)
- Class 4: Southern California climbing destination (weekend)
Cost
- You must have or purchase the required gear. Past students have found they end up spending roughly $350 - $400.
Registration Process
- Registration opens for the next AMP class 2 weeks after the weekend outing of the previous AMP.
- The registration link will appear at the bottom of this page on that date at 8 am Pacific. Your spot in the registration queue is saved when you submit the registration form (not when you open it)
- You should receive an email confirmation at the email address you provided confirming that we received your registration.
- Registrants are added to the class on a first come first serve basis assuming they are qualified for the course, have not taken the course before, and provided all the required information.
- If you make it in, the AMP registrar will follow up you.
To have the best chance of getting through the form quickly, please have your name, address, phone number, email, and an active Sierra Club number ready to enter. Please note that failing to fill out all information on the form may drop you down the priority queue in favor of those who did provide all information.
Unfortunately we are no longer able to roll people over from class to class. If you registered for a previous class and didn't get in, you'll need to register again.
Please note that if you've taken the class before, you will be dropped down the priority queue in favor of first-time participants.
